Loving Myself this Valentine's Day

Hope you had a great Valentine's Day. I don't really "go in" for Valentine's Day. Truth is, I'm not big on holidays in general... except those fabulous All-American holidays of Thanksgiving & Independence Day. But in the spirit of the day, here's what happened to me:

Hermione, AKA LittleDog, killed a brand new toy. She does it all the time. And if you look closely, you can see it's actually caught in her teeth.

Killed it.

I finally got to use my BelieveIAm training journal for something other than chronicling my head cold! Keeping a training diary is a new experience for me. So far, it feels more gratifying than logging into some web site to track my training. I like it!

First day of 1/2 marathon training!

And while I don't really "dig" on the holidays, Mr. X is a whole different story. He loves them all. I think I could even talk him into celebrating Hanukkah or Passover, even though we're not Jewish. He loves holidays that much. Naturally, this resulted in the sending of the Valentine bouquet. And no, not roses. I'm not a big fan of roses. I love lilies & daisies. So I got lilies & daisies.  This is a particularly lovely arrangement; all the white is so crisp & clean. LOVE IT! 

There you have it. Valentine's Day 2012... I spent it loving myself with the first training run of my training cycle and an hour weight session with my trainer. Because you have to love yourself before you can love anyone else... or that's what I told myself so I wouldn't feel so selfish.
